People who are active or don't want to change clothes for different parts of their day can turn to the athleisure fashion subculture for tips and tricks. Living in the post-pandemic world and an unpredictable economy with everything being more expensive, athleisure is a suitable, casual, and affordable versatile subculture that is multi-use for various occasions throughout the day. Athleisure includes pieces like yoga pants, biker shorts, and sports bras. Whether you're one of the lucky people to work from home, the morning yogi who goes for brunch after an enlightened beginning to her day, or a young student, athleisure fits everyone at all stages of life for comfort and sport. Look at three My Melrose athleisure outfits for summer by reading more below.
Begin with a Color Block Set
If you're getting into wearing athleisure, start with a set to make it easier on yourself. You can start with the "AQ" 2-Piece Colorblock Racerback Crop Tank and Shorts Set at your nearest Melrose store, which gives you two color options to build off of. A simple addition would be a matching pair of black "Forever" Pleather Solid Color Sneakers.
If you want to add more to your look, look at NeraStyles and their creation as an inspiration point. While the outfit's base is a solid black set, the pieces incorporated; the solid color button-down shirt with a matching hat and handbag and the duo-colored sneakers are something you can achieve at My Melrose. The outer layer of your outfit would be great with one of the "Chocolate" Long Sleeve Double Pocket Collared Tops, a baseball cap like the one in the last picture of the article, and the duo-colored shoes could either be our pink and white "Forever" Pleather Multi-Colored Sneakers or the designer duped "Kedi" PU Geometric Design Sneakers.
Color Coordinate Seperates
For a more intermediate leveled approach to athleisure, think of your favorite color and one accent color. Here we have the "Bozzolo" Notch Cut Basic Crop Tank Top in white paired with the agave green and white taped "Indero" Yummy Running Shorts with Contrasting Double Side Stripes and the white "Legend" Pleather Solid High Top Sneakers. Our accessories include the "Golden Bridge" Plastic Retro Circular Sunglasses and the clear transparent "Nima" Rolled Top Handle Quilted Texture Satchel Jelly Handbag. Add a light fleece zip-up jacket and a baseball cap to this look. An example of this combination can be seen in Daisy Alvarez's first athleisure look in her short video. Daisy's style has a mix of a neutral/dark color palette of grey, white, and black. With our final look below, you can channel a color palette and make your look advanced with an effortless editorial flair.
Editorial Athleisure
The final athleisure outfit brings current trends to life in an editorial-inspired look. The base of this look is the nude "Bozzolo" 2-Piece Spaghetti Strap Crop Top and Biker Shorts Set layered under the white "Love U" Long Sleeve Tropical Lined Double Flap Blazer and finished with the white "Forever" Pleather Solid Color Sneakers. You'll be up to "off-duty model" standards with the likes of Gigi Hadid.
Author's Note
It's been lovely writing about more fashion subcultures and pop culture inspiration. Getting my creative juices flowing for you guys is so much fun, and it helps me learn to style myself too! I wanted to share some of what's going on and coming soon. We have our back-to-school shop live with backpacks and outfits for kids. Coming soon, we'll have more Barbie-branded t-shirts hitting our stores, and we'll be uploading juniors styles for back-to-school featuring cargo and parachute-style pants. With that said, New Mexico and Texas friends, remember that a tax-free weekend is coming (NM, August 4th - 6th & TX, August 11th - 13th). There are more accessories, cosmetics, and shoes we are working on to have presentable for the website as well. We hope to bring our contemporary women more fashionable looks next month, so be on the lookout for future things. You guys are fantastic for reading the latest articles and showing your friends, too; keep at it; I love sharing my passion for fashion with all of you.
