This week at My Melrose, we have the beginning of a series featuring fall fashion trends. For the first blog post on this season's look, we feature four outfits of different varieties. Among the four outfit choices, we have preppy fashion, a cottagecore outfit, looks featuring maximalist prints, and one final look focusing on a high fashion trend; all leather. 

Any leading man or leading lady could be called a movie star, but among those already rare individuals whose commanding physical presence and charisma commands the attention of an audience, few can truly be considered icons. Charlie Chaplin, James Dean, John Wayne, Bette Davis, Claudette Colbert, and Audrey Hepburn are among those rare stars whose legacies and likenesses have endured, cementing them as icons. One icon eclipses them all, her work and visage recognizable worldwide even a full 60 years after her tragic death:  Marilyn Monroe.

Sometimes we look at our closet and think, “I have nothing to wear,” and the feeling of frustration resulting in dramatically plopping on the bed with all hope lost. In reality, our closets are full of clothes with various combinations. Take the time to sit with your closet and get creative even with the most basic items you can think of. This week, My Melrose keeps things simple when we run out of creative energy, have a lazy day, or feel overwhelmed.
