When the average person thinks about Mother's Day, we picture a biological mom that brought us into the world; but that's not exactly everyone's reality. Think about specific circumstances; relatives or non-blood families might adopt some; some of us may have never had a mother due to a passing or an estranged relationship. What we do have in our lives are women who raised us. These women could be our grandmas, aunts, sisters, or family that chose us; a more accurate outlook and mantra to follow regarding family is that family is what we make it. This Mother's Day, honor your mom or the female role models who were there to act as a mother for you. My Melrose and Melrose Family Fashions take this time to celebrate these fantastic women by showing outfits that highlight female grace and beauty.

"Chill time" doesn't have a dedicated date on the calendar. Instead, we all find ways to have a good time and escape from our routines. With the weather warming up, fun and exciting events start to pop up, like Coachella in California, Lolapalooza in Chicago, Fiesta in the My Melrose headquarters city of San Antonio, Texas, and so much more. This week, we want to talk about festival fashion derived from the mainly bohemian style and more vibrant and colorful inspirations for events like Fiesta. 

Essential fashion items don't have to be dressed in a drab and boring way, despite their affordability and versatility. For example, casually wear a simple, solid-colored shirt with denim or linen and accessorize with a belt, some jewelry, and a contrasting handbag. Another way to use essential fashion is to dress it up with dress pants or a flowing skirt. My Melrose shows three basic top styles in brilliant and exciting spring colors like orange, kelly green, and red. This week's entry in the My Melrose Style Guide showcases different ways to spruce and freshen these bright basics using a variety of bottoms, shoes, and bags. 

Following our post about the Pantone spring/summer 2023 colors, we have new apparel with many of the colors shown. This week, we have curated five fashion outfits to illustrate better ways to wear some of the upcoming season's colors. Our outfits featured below channel exploration and self-expression in creative ways using basic silhouettes and layering to drive more interest and inspiration in elevating essential pieces.

Valentine's Day approaches, and traditionally, the celebratory Day is for couples to enjoy the love they share on a special occasion. However, this year, Galentine's Day reigns supreme for single ladies and their girlfriends. Showing love isn't only for couples; love is strong between friends, besties, and sisters from other misters.
